"The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities."

- Stephen Covey

Maintaining a balance between professional and personal life is essential to avoid exhaustion, the lack of which could cause nervous and emotional breakdowns. This balance means maintaining a state of equilibrium between work and professional life. Both personal and professional life should have equal importance and priorities. Negligence of personal life could lead to damaged relationships and emotional exhaustion. Also, avoidance of work-life could lead to a negative self-image and a sense of failure.

It becomes all the more essential for women in business because of the social expectations from them. It is often expected of women to cater to the needs of both their family and their career. In such a scenario, women become overworked, which can be detrimental to their mental health.

Creating a balance is about feeling happy and satisfied while achieving your goals. It brings meaning and purpose to your life. Here are some tips to help women in business achieve this balance:

· Always acknowledge your feelings - good or bad. Validate and express them openly.

· Schedule only the next 24 hours and stick to it. Also, make sure it is a realistic and achievable schedule.

· Have time designated both for your work and for your rest. Resting would help have better mental health.

· Analyse your time at the of the day and use this analysis before scheduling the next day.

· Reserve some time for self-care. It is essential for relaxation and works as a therapy.

· Set priorities and make sure to complete work in order of these priorities.

· Know your strengths and weaknesses. Do not try to push beyond your limits.

· Learn to say no to extra work (if you already have a lot on your plate) and things you don't feel like doing (because it's not worth it).

· When at home, try to disconnect from work completely for some family time.

· Most importantly, get lots of sleep. Eat healthy food, exercise, and give your body a healthy life.

Application of these and many more tips to daily life can help achieve a healthy balance in life. Small but necessary changes can reduce work dissatisfaction while also give some family time. The constant work-life conflict can be put on hold. It could help prevent burnout and reduce mental health issues. Less stress is equal to a healthier life. In a society where only women manage and run the household, division of housework is a good option.

Life is, at the end of the day, a see-saw. The two sides are work and personal life. If you give more weight to one side, the see-saw will fall out of balance. Thus, to keep the see-saw balanced, don't take more than what you could handle.
